Denmark’s Role in Today's Arctic World.

A presentation by H.E. Poul E.D. Kristensen, Denmark's Ambassador to Canada, on the ever-evolving role of Denmark-Greenland and how these relate to other Arctic countries as well as with the European Union.

Poule E.D. Kristensen has been serving as Denmark’s Ambassador to Canada since 2004 so CNS members can look forward to a considered presentation based on his current stay here in Ottawa. Before coming to Canada, Mr. Kristensen worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen as Under Secretary for Foreign Trade, where he was heavily involved in the management and modernization of Denmark’s Foreign Service. Over the years he has dealt primarily with international economic and trade issue, be it at the United Nations, the European Union, or bilaterally.

The Canadian Nordic Society invites members of other Scandinavian fellowship clubs in the Ottawa area to attend this presentation, including: the Danish Club of Ottawa, the Friends of Iceland, and the Canadian Friends of Finland, as well as the Arctic Circle. This presentation will be held in the main dining room at the Army Officers’ Mess.
