THE ARCTIC CIRCLE ANNUAL DINNER 2007



The Annual Dinner will be held at the RCAF Officers' Mess, 158 Gloucester Street, Ottawa, on Thursday, April 26. Cocktails begin at 1900 hrs; dinner begins at 1930 hrs.

Guest-of-honour will be Susan Rowley, Assistant Professor and Curator of Public Archaeology in the Museum of Anthropology, University of British Columbia. Dr. Rowley’s after-dinner talk is entitled “Resource exploitation? Inuit and whalers in southern Baffin Island, 1861-63" and is based on the diaries of Charles Francis Hall.

Cost of the dinner, including wine, is $45.00 per person. Guests are welcome. You may make your reservations on the form below and return it to Tom Frisch, Secretary, by using the Reply function on your computer. Payment may be made at the dinner or sent beforehand to The Treasurer, The Arctic Circle, 15 Linden Terrace, Ottawa, ON K1S 1Z1. Seating at the dinner, at tables of 8, will be pre-arranged. If you wish to sit with any particular person(s), please indicate this at the time of booking. A seating plan will be posted outside the dining room; please check it before entering.

The preferred method of payment is by cheque in favour of The Arctic Circle. If you have not yet paid your membership dues for 2007 ($30.00 within the National Capital Region or $20.00 outside the NCR), please include them in your cheque.

No actual tickets to the dinner are issued, so please ensure that your booking is made and recorded by April 17. If you are at least reasonably sure you will attend, please book early. If you subsequently have to cancel, let us know as soon as possible.

The RCAF Officers' Mess at 158 Gloucester Street (between O’Connor and Bank streets) is the venue for the regular monthly meetings of The Arctic Circle. Parking is available in nearby lots and on the street.
